So it has been a couple of months since I’ve updated my friends, associates and readers about the income that TAM is generating. So here you go.

Over the past two months I’ve averaged $350 (give or take a few bucks) of earnings from this blog (and a couple of other web properties that I don’t market at all that get little traffic.)

AdSense is pretty consistently earning about $140.00 per month. I’m actually very pleased with the steady stream of revenue that this provides.

Private sales are accounting for the majority of blog earnings month in and month out. I’m getting an advertising inquiry almost every other day. Not everyone buys, but it is a consistent $150.00 or so per month…so I’m pretty pleased with that too.

Affiliate advertising from hostgator is still picking up, but not converting all that often…but it did generate $75.00

Kontera advertising is slow and the payouts are small. I’m only generating about $4.00 or so per month.

ALL THAT SAID, I’m still not generating enough income to make my entire Hummer H2 payment ($478.00 a month), but I’m getting darn close! I’m still getting a ton of traffic from old posts especially the ones about General Motors and Why Capital One Sucks…so that is great.

Traffic has leveled off to between 1500 and 2000 unique visitors per month and between 5000 and 6000 page views per month. I love the tracking capabilities of Analytics…very cool! Also cool to know, 80% of my visitors are coming from the US, 10% from the UK, 5% from Canada, and the rest from all over God’s green earth.

Thanks always for stopping by and for your comments. They make this fun!

It seems like yesterday that I was reporting March numbers. I’ve said this to you all before, but SLOW DOWN AND SOAK UP LIFE! Time just goes by WAY too fast! I hope all my friends are feeling as good about Spring as I am! Yesterday I took my two oldest girls fishing. We caught some bluegills and a perch…cleaned them up and had a mini fish fry. They loved it! One of those moments in life you wish didn’t have to end.

Anyways…April was another decent month for TAM! Earnings were good, but I also am enjoying some nice, steady traffic (I’m going to share traffic data too!)

Earnings breakdown for April 2009

Adsense: $141.88

CCM Income: $30.00

Hostgator Affiliate Sales: $0.00

Private Sales: $180.00

Kontera Income: $0.00

Total Online Earnings: $351.88

April 2009 Site/Traffic Stats

3930 Page Loads

1967 Unique Visitors

1451 First Time Visitors

516 Returning Visitors

Sorry about the bad screen shot, what do ya do!

Well, traffic was up but income was down a little bit. I’m still hopeful that blogs can make money, but I’m not convinced that I’m on the right path towards reaching my year end goals of $1000 per month in TAM blog income. I need to offer some product, service, or information that will truly enhance someones life, in an immediate and measurable way. That is going to be job #1 going forward. Easier said than done though, I know!

It has been a LONG time since I reported blog income information. Many personal finance bloggers don’t report their income, and I think this is a mistake. It is fun and informative to see how others are doing. Most of us blog for fun, conversation, and community. ALL of us blog for the potential revenue, at least thats my opinion.

EARNINGS BREAKDOWN FOR March 2009:

Adsense Income: $151.40

CCM Income: $100.00

Host Gator Income: $50.00

Link Revenue: $80.00

TOTAL INCOME: $381.40

I’m pretty darn excited about these results! It was nice to finally get a hostgator.com affiliate sale. Also, it makes you feel really good when you are being contacted by other companies about advertising opportunities. CCM income is due to a referral who joined the company. This is a one time fee, but I will receive trail commissions too (which may or may not be significant).

Adsense is pretty steady, but is not growing. I have never really worked to understand how to drive adsense revenue, I’m just thankful that it is there. Most surprising to me is the usage that I get on my google search bar. That performs pretty well, all things considered. It doesn’t get used every day, but when it does get used, about 15% of the time is generates revenue…pretty cool!

So anyways, I love this blog! Sharing my thoughts on investing, entrepreneurship, personal finance, faith, etc. It really is fun to do. Income is a great by-product of a small passion. That being said, I’m firmly committed to generating $1000 per month of passive income from TAM by year end. Big goal for sure, but I’ve climbed higher mountains.

This seems like a great time to thank you all again! I truly appreciate those of you who support this blog with comments and links. These digital conversations and friendships are daily blessings in my life! SO THANKS!

One of the greatest thing about blogging (besides getting to organize your thoughts) is the relationships that you make with other bloggers. There are some undefined, yet very tangible, common bonds that connect bloggers to one another. This is especially true with bloggers who are at similar stages of their projects.

I’m exceedingly thankful for the dozen or so other bloggers who regularly take the time to comment and add value to The Almost Millionaire. The occasional stop ins are great too…but those bloggers who I consider “regulars”…(the ones that I try to support the most) are the ones that REALLY make it fun. I will not visit the blogs of my regulars and friends without trying my best to leave something there of value…and you all seem to do the same. Often I’ll post some Personal Finance ideas, and you all will leave BETTER advice in your comments and thoughts. And I can’t thank guys like Mitch enough for all they have done to make blogging fun.

You all are very appreciated…that is the bottom line. So cheers to a fun and profitable future! Let me know what I can do to help you be successful, because Blogging is an island if we don’t build a team!

This blog has enjoyed 25 – 50 unique visitors per day for some time now. I’ve felt blessed to have this amount of traffic and great commenters, because this blog has always served as a way for me to organize my thoughts on business, entrepreneurship, and personal finance. I’m truly honored when someone visits the sight and lets me know that they found some useful information.

I’ve always had the expectation that this blog would slowly grow and gain a couple of new readers a week…AND THEN SOMEONE STUMBLED UPON MY SITE. The graph below shows what that meant for me.

As you can see, two days ago I had a HUGE SPIKE in unique visitors and page views. I quickly went to statcounter.com to see where these visits were coming from. Nearly every one was from Stumble Upon. I have yet to figure out exactly how stumble upon works, but I’m going to, because my traffic has been through the roof since Feb. 2 and so has my site earnings. Absolutely Amazing!

So if you were the blessed person who decided to Stumble my site, THANK YOU! When I figure out Stumble Upon and who you are, I will surely return the favor!

December 2008 proved to be a banner month in my quest to figure out if blogs can be profitable. I employ a very limited selection of revenue streams on my blog. I currently utilize Adsense for content, Adsense for Search, and direct advertisement sales. In Dec. these efforts yielded the following results:

Adsense for Content…about $75.00 in revenue

Adsense for Search…about $50.00 in revenue

Private Ads…exactly $50.00 in revenue

Total December blogging income…$175.00

I’m pretty pleased with these results as I truly blog for fun. That being said, I’m an entrepreneur at heart, so I love the business aspect of conquering the Internet. I will continue down the path of slow and steady to win the race, and will grow my knowledge of all things “interweb” as you must remember that I started with NO KNOWLEDGE of these things several months ago. Hopefully I can report $300 in income for Jan. I’m looking for 2009 to be a big year.

Blessings! And big thanks to all my friends and commentors. You truly make blogging alot more fun.
