I've been using Restaurant.com for several years with NO problems. So I don't know what people are whining about. Most of the complaints here seem to either be from restaurant owners (which I'm not; I'm a customer), or from people who didn't bother to read their gift certificates before trying to use them (what days of the week they're accepted, what it includes, minimum purchase amount, etc.). When you add in the frequent promo codes, you can get things like $50 GCs for a couple of bucks.

The ONLY problem I've ever had was getting a coupon to one particular restaurant, not using it until months later, and finding out then that they were no longer accepting the coupons. All I had to do was just redeem it for credit towards another coupon in the future. Again, this only happened to me once, and if you simply double-check with the restaurant beforehand, you can avoid it. "Rip-off"? Oh please.

I was just happily doing some more research and learning and always will. Anyway, I found out some very interesting ideas.
take CCM for example, and take those who say "but why pay the $279" what if I work directly for a company and don't have to pay? well
what are you actaully getting for that? ask yourself, what does it take to do what they ahve done? CCM is 4 years old as a Direct sales/MLM company, and 7 years old if you consider how long our commercial conulting busienss has been around, maybe 8. That is important unto itself which I will readress later. but we have multiple suppliers in 28 states, residental and commercial and about 100 utilities we deal with, every utility has their own rules, prices, codes and so forth. and eachstate has their own set of rules within the state and so that is a lot to deal with. next we have parters in all 50 states with many many companies in the telephone, cell phone, internet, cable, sattelite tv, text messeging, home alarm and many many more. it is like a machine with thousands of parts that has to work smoothly. Just all that alone would cost $1 million to set up and get working, not to mention continuos costs of keeping it up. Part of that involves the fact we have our own IT department that makes sure every single link to every single company, plan, service ertc.. for every single broker is working properly and trackign for your back office, for CCM, for pay for all that. that costs probably another $1million a year I think. Than of course we have consultant, attorneys, and so forth making sure they help us with that part of the business, which by the way is quite important as well. So anyone who wants to spend all that money to get what we have, feel free, and of course without the trial and error and knowledge we already have, youwould have to go spend 5-10 years learning just what our CEO knows about energy just to even catch up. not to mention the knowledge our CAP dept. has. So is $279 worth it? oh I think it is. we have access to 300 million customes in energy, telecomand others that makes us in a trillion dollar industry. That is one solid business.
you want free? ? you can always go stand in very long lines somewhere, take a 20 minute survy for a free ice cream or something. maybe even get government handouts. but things are worth what they are worth. and CCM, what I described above, the $279 is a super bargain. with what we got, they should be charging $30,000 to get in and $1000/mo but they don't why not? because they want this available for everyone to take part in that is why. they understand the importance of our relationships. That is why they pay us so well compared to all the other companies. as I posted many times, numbers are the proof in the pudding which I always show. many people try to prove otherwise. I find it halaroius sometimes. I got a phone call a few months ago from someone who told me their company was in 8 states and growing to 11 in energy by the end of next year. I told him I am currently in 28, the guy still said he had the largest energy footprint. I don't know what planet's mathematical equations would work out in such a way but certainly not here on the plaent Earth.
also for teh 39/mo what do you get? you get all that plus the CAP dept. closing tons of commercial accounts for you you that would take lots of time and effort and certifications and compeition you don't necissarily understand to leverage your time and you just do mimimal work. and you get paid. you also get way more but that is a huge thing.
now back to the 4yrs and 7-8 yrs. Remember how I stated that CCM started as an energy deregulation firm as consultants for commercial energy, shopping the market for 3-4 years before CCM becamse a direct seller? well that is one big reason why nobody can duplicate us. we had the CAP dept already built in as our initial busienss. The Direct sales side was a nice bonus for the rest of us.

I'm not certain if it's a scam or not yet. I did order these books almost a week ago, and I have yet to get any email from enjoythecity.com stating if they shipped out my order or not. I bought them under their promotion where you can get 5 books for $25 AND free shipping. We'll see....

Well, the news is out. Some really great things for network marketers. in fact this just goes along with what I have seen CCM do and strive for since nearly the beginning (albeit, I came in 8 monhts after the beginning but I am sure they were doing this even before).
What is that?
2 thinsg, 1. customer satasifaction, which is a staple of CCM.
but they are also doing what is considered 2. Broker satisfaction. they are doing everything possible to help the brokers in the field in all aspects and to also attract diffrent types of marketers, from customer gatherers to those who like network marketing.

Basically they doubled the customer acqusition bonus for getting customer qualified in 30 days with 3 customer points.
Also, we now get paid much faster on our fast start bonsues throughout the team. this is really big.
We also have a contest going right now so that anyone that achieves their 1000 bonsues, they will get extra as well as getting special recognition at the convention this year.

There is more but I want to make sure I have it all clear first.

Also going back to an analysis. I am barrowing this phrase from my friend and partner, but another way to look at comparing energy MLM companies to one another.

so I pose this question to all.
If you are going fishing, you have 3,4,5 maybe even 10 fishing poles all laying out to catch them, vs. someone that has 30 fishing poles, who do you think is going to catch more fish? who is going to have the better dinner tonight?
I think we all know the answer to that.

Well imagine the fishing poles are states that you can get customers in. most companies are in that 4-10 state range.
CCM is in right around 30 give or take.
So I have 30 fishing poles vs. someone else that only may have a few.
now add on the fact we have several products and several srevices, and all the commercial, I have basically an Alaskan fishing boat with a giant net, even better than fishing poles.

Now in doing so, we also need to look at what types of fish we catch.
that is quality.
most companies have good quality, ccm does too.But watch out, there may be a company out there, if you don't do proper research in regards to the BBB and red flags shall I say? well, with these thigns you are catching fish with mecury poisening in them. CCM's suppiers are top quality and fish that are in the cleanest waters, where no motor boats, no skiers, no swimmers are allowed and the water in these parts is clean enough to drink.
But becuase of our commercial program, and we have real commercial, we have had people catch good size fish, some caught whales, and we have the CAP program, which is like our nice big harpoon who can help us capture those great blue whales. if it is a tree, it is a sequioa tree.

but because of all the other services we have, we can catch not just cod and catfish (energy products) but we can get tuna, swordfish, gold fish, stingrays, and tropical fish all for our beautiful acquarium we just put our money down on.

and when you look at residual vs. 1 time pay. beware of completely free fishing rods, they may be broken, so the residuals don't show up. they will snap in half, you will get an initial lump sum, like one really really big fish that almost got away, but since he broker your fishing pole, while you might eat for a day or 2, a feast! well, you won't catch any more fish until you buy a new pole, which will snap again.

You also don't want a fishing pole way too expensive either, becasue while they are ultra fancy, they look so nice they are better in a musuem. all the bells and whistles are just hpye. at CCM there isn't bells and whistles.
We have top notch suppliers, top notch owners, leaders, honesty, integrity and that never changes. and while we are the subject.
the nice thing about MLM Is this. Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime, teach a man to not only fish but teach him how to teach others and repeat the process, and he, his family, his children and his childrens childrend and so on will eat forever forever :)

Have additional questions about this or anything else I wrote about, feel free to call me

My family had a similar experience. My husband was there 15 plus years and brought business from another financial firm. He is now with another firm. Took his top tier clients and is doing very well. He has 2 large garbage cans in his office filled with EJ awards for service excellence etc etc. They do not live up to all their propaganda in my humble opinion.

We did that and they blocked us from accessing our menu and control panel. Then they sent an invoice for $1000 for breaching the "agreement". Restaurant.com is a scam. Small business owners beware.

Here is how I see it.
I feel for any owner that got suckered into their scam. What I would do is send a certified letter to RDC asking for immediate removal.
Put a big sign on your front door explaining you no longer honor these certificates as of a certain date.

I am not sure how uploading your menu works for them, but if you have some control over it, upload your menu with we don't honor these certificates We have asked to be removed super-imposed on it. Also include it on your website.
You may even want to include a webpage dedicated to explaining, in non-libel terms, why you no longer participate in their program and offer some level of compensation for their troubles. Remember, chances are you did sign up (apparently that doesn't hold true for all) and it did get them to your door.
Get get onto a restaurant owners forum. Doing a quick Google search revealed many such forums.
