Do iPhone Apps Make Money?
Well, I’m about to find out if a good idea and great partners is enough of a foundation in the iPhone Application development world to make for a good investment.
This week, I’ve funded the development of an exciting new iPhone app. The app is a productivity tool for moms and dads, and is “top secret”!
I admit, I know little to nothing about iPhone applications, but when a good idea rips you out of bed at 4:00 in the morning, the entrepreneur in me has to pay attention. I’m truly excited to keep you all informed, and to consistently blog about the progress and performance of developing and marketing a new idea for the iPhone App Store…and please don’t hesitate to pipe in if you have some insight or perspective!

Play with ‘em in my graphic arts class. I just don’t get the craze. You pay so much more with a MAC for so much less space/computing power than a windoze based machine. Drop the ‘doze add some Linux, now you have a machine!

Good luck with your idea. I saw a show on cable about Apple and they talked about apps. Most don’t make any money to speak of, but I figure it all adds up, even the small amounts. And you will never hit the home runs unless you try.

I am hoping to grab one “for my girlfriend”, once they get released. Of course, I’ll probably need a good month or 2 of playing with it before she gets to “own” it. Hehehehe.
Till then,
Jean

I’m not making much money on my two paid apps, and they need a marketing effort that I haven’t found time for. I’ve spent my time on the programming (and the limited artwork I use) – that’s not enough to insure success.

Yeah, the marketing aspect is of the utmost importance if you’re looking to make an impression. The best programming will be of little value if people don’t find out about your wonderful offering. Here social media is very effective at getting the attention you need.

I hope it works out for you. I once tried to make one, with the help of a friend but I didn’t finish it. It was just for fun though, not for money. I wonder if you can get rich off of apps… It would be a nice thing to try out at the very least.

As the saying goes “You’ll never know, unless you try”. The iphone is huge now, so with the right app and good marketing you certainly have a good chance.

I left a job to get started with a company who has an application on all smart phone platforms. I sent you a link on my first post about SMS marketing. Oh man can an application make you an overnight gillionaire.

ive also considered doing this. I think the iphone app market is pretty saturated right now, but the android app market is picking up steam, so that might be something you would want to check out.
I think ive got a pretty great idea, but i would need a ton of capital to develop it

Personally I have been hearing some good things about decent amounts of money being made by creating iPhone apps. It seems too that the free ones can make as much money as the paid apps because they will be downloaded more and can then be monetized with advertising. I am currently working on my first app myself so can’t wait to get it into the app store!

Um, do a search for “Astonish Results” This forum post pretty much bashing Astonish Results shows up on top… They have no idea how to do SEO. If you don’t believe me, contact any SEO professional and have them look at one of Astonish Results insurance agents sites… They will laugh at their insurance website.
