As an investor people buy gold mainly to protect their capital form the wrath of inflation. Such investors can go for buying gold ingots and coins instead of finished jewellery. Generally jewellery invite additional price on account of making charges. For an investor, making charges do not add much value to his investment. So for an investor the first gold investment advice will be to invest in gold bars and gold coins instead of jewellery.

If you didn’t invest in gold, but are considering other metals, my recommendation is Platinum.

It’s far more volatile than gold and you can experience massive price fluctuations, but the potential return is huge.

Once the automotive industry gets back on its feet, I believe Platinum prices will go into orbit.

This is definitely a step forward but it will not impact the current situation much unless there is a stipulation that the cost cannot be passed along to the customer by any means. If that stipulation is taken into consideration the profits gained by the companies in question would be reduced to a degree that it would be less costly to employ call centers in the United States rather than in foreign countries.

Fanny, I don’t know what you mean by “Soon”, Gold could clearly drop in the short run. In the medium and longer run, we will have inflation and that is when gold does best.

There is no way with the economic policies being put in place today that we will not have inflation soon.

Hi Tam,

I know Robert Kiyosaki talks about gold and silver. But I haven’t read those books and I’m a little confused. When you talk about buying gold or silver, are you talking about buying accessories made of gold and silver? Or is something like the stock market? Silly question, but I’m really confused… @_@

I did not, but am keeping a close eye on it and other metals. I’m still thinking that the cheap dollar is going to continue to drive up the price of equities. We will see if I’m right or not. Thanks for prompting me!
