What is a meme?
The longer that I blog, the more I realize that there are folks all over the world who literally LIVE ON THEIR COMPUTERS! They have got so much “online” time to fill that they create little online games…then they sucker their blogger friends into spending a perfectly good Friday night playing along. So Sire …I owe you one.
Because I had no idea what a “meme” was when Sire “tagged” me, I asked him…Here is his response
As far as I can tell it’s sort of a ‘tag’ game bloggers play. Someone starts up a theme and then involves other bloggers by ‘tagging’ them. Those bloggers continue the theme and ‘tag’ other bloggers. In a way I suppose it’s a fun way of link sharing.
And here are the rules of the meme:
- Link to your original tagger(s) and list these rules in your post.
- Share seven facts about yourself in the post.
- Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names and the links to their blogs.
- Let them know they’ve been tagged.
Well, seven things about me that I didn’t already include on that facebook “25 things” that I’ve plastered everywhere.
1. I eat either popcorn or cookie dough ice cream (or both) almost every night of my life.
2. I wife and I got married about two weeks after she graduated from High School. 10 years ago, July.
3. I bought a Hummer H2 in April 2004. Gas prices jumped 11% the day after I bought it…I felt like God was just laughing at me.
4. I am not sure why, but I keep a copy of my last 7 years tax returns with me at all times. ???
5. My oldest daughter starts indoor Soccer tomorrow and I’m really freaking excited!
6. I graduated summa cum-laude from my university, which is amazing because I almost didn’t show up to high school my senior year, and couldn’t read until about 5th grade.
7. I built a home in Michigan in Jan. 2006…the EXACT MONTH that the housing bubble really started to burst here…hence, the Almost.

Don’t you love this, I tagged you and now your sucking in all your friends, cool huh, and they are so going to love you for it.
Do you still have the Hummer, and what sort of fuel does it use? Perhaps you can get it converted to run on something more economical, like gas or something.

I do have the hummer, but rarely drive it now as I got smart and bought a Ford Focus. I would love to convert it to run on Banana peels or methane.
I actually had to google Summa cum-laude to figure out what it means…I’m still not quite sure, but it was printed on my diploma, so I feel important.

So what does a hummer run on, diesel? I know you can convert petrol to gas, and I am pretty sure the same can be done with diesel, I’m just not sure what the conversion cost would be in the States. Here the Government subsidizes the conversion.

No, it runs on unleaded gas and gets about 12.1 miles to the gallon. Not much worse than my pick-up, but when gas hit $4 a gallon here, the H2 got garaged!

I hear you on the popcorn/cookie dough! I’m a popcorn addict myself and find that I consume it almost religiously. Gets me nervous though when I heard about the guy who got cancer and they blamed it on all the popcorn he ate lol

@ Donace, I suppose by unleaded gas you mean unleaded petrol. I get confused when you Yanks call petrol gas as over here petrol and gas are two completely different things. I suppose gas for you is an abbreviation for gasoline whereas for us its an abbreviation for LPG.

Almost millionaire,
Congratulations on being so organized with those tax returns.
I have to admit that my own organization with respect to taxation related documents is in a shambles, which is not great considering that I am a former accountant and that I used prepare the tax returns of others on a full time basis.
I know it’s a bit early, but congratulations also in advance on reaching that ten year marraige milestone.

Hi Brandon,
At least you can say you have a Hummer, lol. You may look at the bright side, in some years from now when you get into your garage you still have that hummer like brand new, maybe will become a classical truck and worth a lot more money.
Interesting game. I keep my tax records too, who knows when the IRS will come to your home and ask if you had paid all your past taxes, lol.
