I sure wish I had read this article about 3 years ago! I sold a web business for over 600k. I thought to myself..."WOW, I will never have to worry about money again."

Now looking back, I was a total dumb***. Had I done things differently, perhaps I wouldn't worry about putting food on the table now! Thanks for the reminder that usually we can only blame ourselves for our financial troubles!

Great tips on saving alot of money. All we have to do is look at the stuff we really need to live. Making a few simple changes can safe alot of money in the end. I love the Idea of Camping instead of staying in Hotels. Camping is a great way to see the real America. Do not limit your adventures to only the USA. The whole world is just outside your tent or camper.

I think the point you made about cutting your vacation bill down by $6000 just by having more frequent lower cost camping trips rather than expensive vacations is excellent. I think we all need to realise that children spell "love" as "T-I-M-E" and it is about quantity than quality time that counts, they just want to be with you rather than you being at work etc. I suppose the bottom line is that we are creating memories for our children and we don't need to be spending a fortune doing it.

Well done

Its amazing how stuff thats so common sense is just impossible to get ourselves to do sometimes. It takes thatr team effort as a family to really get the momentum in the right direction.

How the heck did I miss this post? Great stuff, Brandon, but the car,... did you just pay it off, or did you sell the car? I look at my budget and I don't see a place where I can lop off even $500, except for the eating out part, and we may do that, on average, once a week, so I'm not giving that up. Then again, it's only the two of us.

Way to go; proud of you, my man! But since you sold the restaurants, how are you generating new funds, other than the blog? Yeah, I'm nosy! :-)
